|INEX CEPS/LSTS Lunchtime Briefing 1: "New Perspectives in Border Security"|
|Friday, 23 April 2010 00:00|
The Justice and Home Affairs Section at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) and the research centre Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) will organize a Series of Five Lunchtime Briefings within the framework of the INEX Project (Converging and conflicting ethical values in the internal/external security continuum in Europe).
We are therefore happy to inform you that the first lunchtime briefing will take place at the Centre for European Policy Studies (Place du Congrès, 1 – 1000 Brussels) on the 28th April 2010 from 12.00 – 15.00h and it will deal with ‘New Perspectives in Border Security? The US under Obama and the EU under the Stockholm Programme’. Below you may find the latest version of the programme. This lunchtime briefing will aim at linking the results of the early stages of the project with policymaking processes. The events’ purpose is to allow an open discussion on the conceptual and empirical research on the social and cultural dimensions of security in Europe, linking analyses of law and technology with current border control and policing practices.
